Using Coconut Oil: What About the Face?

Coconut oil has a plethora of uses today. It all starts with the fact that coconut oil is not only tasty, but it also contains antibacterial, anti-parasitic and anti-fungal properties. Thanks to this fact, it can be used in a variety of situations to heal the body. When it comes to using it on the face, it brings a variety of benefits one just can’t overlook.

For example, if you have acne, coconut oil makes for a great tool in your beauty arsenal. To begin with, it kills off the bacteria which causes acne to appear. It also deals with fungal infections which appear after a pimple has ruptured. This means that not only will you have less acne, but when you do have a pimple which opens up into a wound, it will heal better and leave less of a scar if coconut oil is used.

When it comes to moisturizing the acne-riddled face, it can be hard to find an option which won’t further block your pores. Thankfully, coconut oil doesn’t just kill off bad bacteria and fungus but also moisturizes as it works. This means that you can get a one-two punch on your facial skin, leaving it soft, smooth and zit free.

Using Coconut Oil on Face

If you want to make a moisturizer which mimics the great scent of those you buy in the store, melt some coconut oil and then add drops of essential oil. Tea tree oil has a strong scent, but it is said to disinfect and soothe the skin. It often helps redness to dissipate and swelling to go down.

Lavender oil, on the other hand, is soothing to your mind and soul. It helps you to relax, so it is a great option for a moisturizer you plan to use before bed. If you want a pick me up in the morning, choose a lemongrass essential oil which will perk up your senses and get you going in the morning. There is no harm in creating a few different pots of moisturizer with multiple scents so you can pick and choose which you want to use each day.

If you are looking to remove your makeup, coconut oil comes to the rescue again. Whether it is eye makeup or foundation, it quickly releases it from your skin while not harming your face beneath. To complete this process, just wet a cotton ball or pad with warm water and then add some coconut oil. Allow the ball or pad to sit on eye makeup for at least a minute to break it up, then literally just wipe it away. Repeat the process as necessary until your skin is clean and soft once again.

When you want to take care of your skin, especially that which is on your face, you have to focus on natural ingredients for the products you use. There is nothing more natural than pure coconut oil! Choose it the next time you want to clean and moisturize your face.
